The Impact You’ll Make in this Role is to…

  • Guide marketing and business efforts for the electrical construction and industrial voltage segment.

  • Establish a cohesive process for collecting, synthesizing, and sharing market insights to support strategic decisions and the new product commercialization process.

  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to create and activate global segment plans to increase relevance and unit share, including creating marketing and training campaigns.

  • Develop and lead programs that strengthen global relevance, leadership, and growth in low-voltage portfolios, including the electrical and general industrial channels and eCommerce way to market.

As a Global Segment Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Guiding marketing and business efforts for the EMD C&I MV/HV strategic growth segment.

• Establishing a cohesive process for collecting, synthesizing, and sharing market insights to support strategic decisions, set portfolio direction, and the NPI commercialization process.

• Collaborating with global cross-functional teams to create and activate global C&I MV/ and HV segment plan to increase relevance and unit share, in addition to activating the WHYS campaign.

• Developing and leading programs that strengthen global relevance, leadership, and growth in core C&I verticals and portfolios, including wind, solar, data centers for both MV and HV. 

• Identifying customer pain points and translate them into new marketing ideas.

• Contributing customer requirements for local kitting partnerships, C&I website, expertise delivery programs, trade shows/events, social media, and thought leadership.

• Providing guidance to the global C&I BDM team and collaborate closely with EMD and corporate Data Center vertical teams. 

• Deploying and the activation of the C&I MV and HV playbook into under-penetrated areas/countries leveraging the value proposition built for sustainable growth in USAC

High Voltage Portfolio:

  • Managing all stages of the product life cycle, from concept through optimization and product management/rationalization

  • Developing marketing and sales programs to achieve sales objectives, then working with Area teams on program execution considering Area & Country end-user insights

  • Driving product line pricing strategies and working closely with Area teams to ensure operational implementation

  • Working closely with R&D to clearly define differentiators between 3M products and those of competitors, as well as working closely with the Business Supply Chain team on cost reduction efforts & potential value stream optimization programs

  • Managing new product efforts with cross-functional team – partnering with R&D/Laboratory and Finance to develop realistic business cases that clearly define the risks, rewards, and resources needed – developing and implementing effective new product launch plans that fully realize the opportunity in the market as quickly as possible

  • Building strong supplier partnerships with critical suppliers in close relationship with the Sourcing/Outsourcing team

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Ten (10) years of combined experience in New Product Commercialization, Marketing, Sales, and/or Business in a private, public, government, or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Strategy preferred.

  • Experience in global marketing or business management in electrical or industrial markets, specifically in medium and high voltage products and applications.

  • Experience identifying/understanding customer pain points to translate into new marketing ideas.

  • Ability to use multiple sources of insights to develop strategy and implementation plans

  • Experience working with and leading global and or cross functional teams.

  • Language proficiency due to global role is beneficial

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Work location:

  • Work location: Based in the USA (Austin, TX); EMEA (Germany) or APAC (Shanghai /Japan / Singapore)

Travel: May include up to 40% domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
